The Port of Laem Chabang is the country’s budget container terminal. Chabang is located 130 km south of Bangkok. The Port of Songkhla is ideal for the moves to the very south of Thailand. After the container reaches the Thai soil, it passes through customs and goes through the train or truck to your new home.

Customs are strict in Thailand and the shipping company helps you with that. You have to create an inventory of goods and include descriptions with monetary value for each item. When the inventory seems satisfactory, your container is subjected to physical inspection leading to additional fees and longer waiting times.

When you are returning Thai national, you can import your household goods duty-free or your shipment will face normal taxes and duties. If you got a non-immigrant visa of one year and your household goods are used, then import your belongings duty-free. Thai customs has one duty-free shipment, so limit to use no more than one container.
